The Last of a Series: Fireworks and Terrorists

Two words: Power Powers. Katie Ellyn and Justin surprised us by buying a bunch of fireworks for us to do on New Years Eve. I'd never done New Years Eve fireworks before and especially when I wasn't breaking the law by doing big ones. They were great. We had some that blew up under water, some that spun around, some Roman candles, some big ole cussers called super bombs, and some that simply blew up. I personally liked the roman candles a whole dang lot since I had never done them before. Anything that you can hold and that spews flaming balls of stuff is good in my book. The super bombs, also known as power powers, were amazing too. We'd all expected them to be great but they exceeded our expectations. Sadly, none of the pictures that we tried to take worked so I don't have any pictures.
The ones that exploded underwater came in a case that looked like a mortar shell. It looked pretty cool so Pop recommended that I take it home. That sounded like a plan but I asked just to make sure that it'd be okay. Dad said yeah so we went ahead. Just as some background, I had an airsoft pistol and three knives in my suitcase as well as this case so I guess that the airline people had good reason to be nervous. Anyway everything was going fine until we got on the plane and over the intercom someone said, "Will Keith Walker come to the front of the plane please." Well, to make a long story short, I lost my case. The lady that walked Dad out of the terminal and into the place where you checked baggage kept on asking him if he didn't know that he wasn't supposed to take explosives on the plane. There was nothing in it except a glass Dr. Pepper bottle so you would think that the airline people would've noticed that it was empty. Apparently they could read on the package the word explosive and didn't feel like checking it further. I did get to keep my bottle so that was good.
All in all, my trip was very good. Everything was great. Next time you hear from me, I'll give you a regular post. Just think, if I'd done the entire post at once, you'd have read almost eleven hundred words. That number…. Now!

Ahhhhhh the power powers..... it was a great trip. But don't you know you aren't allowed to take explosives on the air plain??!?!? :) Yeah, it was fun stuff!

Explosive glass bottles sound extremely dangerous!
Those power-powers sure were fun! I had a great time, even though a small explosive firework somehow got thrown at your head! :)
Too bad y'all noticed when Eisel and I changed the clocks. That would've rocked if we got to go to bed at 11:01. :)

Too bad about the cardboard mortar round. I'm surprised they didn't do the same thing on the way here with the high powered handguns. What can you do?

It's too bad that you did not buy them in Austin, because I think they do allow Austin Powers on the plane.

Hey, how does spewing flaming balls of stuff differ from any other way of expelling flaming balls of stuff? Why did it not Shoot it out? Or why not Launch it out?

When I was a girl, my aunt and uncle would always have fireworks for Christmas entertainment. They still did it when your dad and his siblings wold go to Ringgold with us while we were in CV for Christmas. They loved them, too. The fireworks, but they loved my aunt and uncle, too, I think. See you guys next week.

I love fireworks, I still have a number of firecrackers from you that I haven't gotten to do yet because of that pesky law! I will have to do something with them sometime!

Yeah, they didn't like my bowling ball candle or my hairdryer with a scope either.
